WE ARE...
|
...a voluntary group of
local people who came together to oppose a plan to build a
huge cinema multiplex-leisure complex on the historic, Grade
II* listed site of the old Crystal Palace in south
London.
- We are a
non-political coalition of people including residents and
businesses with no connection to other
groups.
- We do not condone
unlawful action.
- We are committed to
finding a better future for our park.
Although
the multiplex scheme was cancelled in May 2001 the Crystal
Palace Campaign continues since we are committed to finding
a better future for our park. The Campaign conducted and
published the first ever consultation of local views,"Consultation Starts here" . We instituted the dialogue
process which, together with local groups, politicians and
agencies, is seeking an acceptable permanent solution to
regenerate Crystal Palace Park.
