(N70) London Open House Weekend

The amazing Crystal Palace Subway (SE19 1LG) will be open during London Open House weekend on the 20th/21st September. One of the most distinctive  and fabulous remnants of the Crystal Palace days in the park remains usually hidden from view under Crystal Palace Parade.

The Friends Of Crystal Palace Subway are supervising visits all day Saturday and Sunday - last year about 550 people were able to go down and explore the subway, this year more than 750 visitors can be accommodated. This is a chance to see it by entering for the ballot of tickets.   The limit is due to safety issues at present but moves are afoot to survey and repair the subway - particularly the open courtyard - so that wider use can be made of the space.

Ballot closes 31 August 2014 and notifications will be made in the following week.
